How do you treat your weekends with regards to diet?
Discussion
Do you completely fall off the bandwagon? Do you keep 100% strict Fri>Sun? Do you allow yourself a cheat meal or day(s)? Do you still calorie count? What if you have a party?
I’ve been really good this week and my problem is at weekends I tend to eat what I want within reason and drink Fri, Sat + Sun (not bladdered, just a few drinks like a responsible, sensible adult… :P). However, I wanna really try and be good this weekend but I have a BBQ party tonight and a party tomorrow.
At a BBQ do you get involved in all the beer & burgers? Or do you be fussy, eat the meats without the buns, stay away from the alcohol? Limit yourself to 1?
I’m just interested to hear what others would do in these situations. I don’t wanna be a fussy, annoying f
ker.

ker.For me I have been restricting my carb intake recently – trying to keep to around 100g per day + not from simple sources, so from fruits, veg etc. So I think I do need to have more carbs at a weekend, but possibly just loading on a Sunday (maybe get to 300-500g). Other than that I think I need to be strict on the other days, watch my alcohol intake and keep to my target daily calories (2,000-2,300).
It varies - normally i will eat and drink and "refeed"
but if i feel like i'm slipping a bit, or have been drinking/slacking off too much in the week then i will clamp down on things. I am a bit of an all-or-nothing type of person.
If i know i'm going to stuff my face with 5000 calories of beer and curry on Saturday night, i'll probably fast the whole of the rest of the day

I know you’ve said it before, but what’s your average WEEKLY diet look like? I know you’re into your IF but I get too hungry for that.

It varies enormously - this week i've been averaging about 4000 calories a day, drinking every day, and had a huge steak pie and about half a chocolate cake yesterday. Basically i try and hit 150g protein a day, eat lots of fruit and veg and red meat, generally do low-ish carb but not keto/paleo. Other than that i dont have any rules.... although i claim to "refeed" on carbs this is really just because i like beer and crisps.....
At the moment i'm experimenting with doing mini-bulk/cuts so i'm having 2 weeks at 3500/day and 2 weeks at 2000/day

Okay cool - do you find when you get to a low bf% it's quite easy to adjust what you are eating and be more 'free' with it? Cos at the mo I'm just trying to get to around 10% and I want to keep it there. Will I have to continuously eat like a saint or could I take liberties and pull it back a day or 2 later?Basically i try and hit 150g protein a day, eat lots of fruit and veg and red meat, generally do low-ish carb but not keto/paleo. I'm between 8 and 9 now, and it's easy to stay there, and i could get to 7 again in a few weeks, but going below 7 is hard.
I tend to agree with the set point theory from my own experiences. Since eating more and continuing with lifting, despite cutting most of my CV, I've maintained fat levels from mid-December 2012 and grown muscle. As mentioned elsewhere, my CV is now tennis but I'll stop that once it gets wet again.
How good do you feel/look in the morning? The last week or so waking up I’ve felt pretty ripped. A couple of eggs, protein shake & coffee later and I feel softer.
At the BBQ later I will limit myself to 1 pint (2 bottles of beer) – more if I can nab some spirits and meat without the bread.
My CV is hill sprints & interval sprints on the xtrainer.

It's cos you sweat all night losing water. Then you top it up. You could just not drink water... ever. At the BBQ later I will limit myself to 1 pint (2 bottles of beer) – more if I can nab some spirits and meat without the bread.

Unlikely it's hunger you're feeling. It's just a habit we get in to. Not eating for 24-36 hours is about where we typically feel hunger, but even then we are (typically) so well nourished it's not unbearable even then. If you ignore what you think of as 'hunger pangs' they are short lived. Assuming for healthy individual.
