Adjustable seat height?
Discussion
Hi newbie here,(and yes I did search the forum & google before posting)
Wife & I have started looking at Tuscan's as a weekend car for us (kid free time) and whilst I'm sold on one my Mrs is not happy
, at 4' 11 she already struggles in most cars without a cushion but the TVR is way to low for her. I'm only 5' 4" myself but don't have an issue with the standard ones I've sat in.
Has anyone managed to modify or know of a way to change their seats for height adjustment? & how much room is there to go with the roof on??
Cheers

The Tuscan seat base is fixed with Velcro and comes out easily (apparently to give you more height if you're wearing a helmet) but you can add some extra foam underneath to lift the seat base an inch or two for a quick fix. Alternatively most trimmers would be able to add some extra padding into the actual base pad so you can easily swap them over when she drives.

I would guess wouldnt be a big job to fit spacers to raise the seat.
There's quite a lot of headroom and there are some tall guys on PH with Tuscans so I dont think that will be a problem. You will basically be raising your head hight to that of the taller chaps.
Also the pedal box is adjustable unlike most cars and so it can be moved towards the seat which should also help.
It may be worth a call to someone like Str8six or TVRPower for advise on the seat and peddal box.
My Wife loves my Tuscan but she only drives manuals so its all mine
Good luck.

I'm in India at the moment on a business trip.
My concentration is a bit challenged as my laptop keeps falling off my lap when I reach for the toilet paper. (too much detail sorry).

Wowzers. You both being that teeny, it would be worth making a bench seat for the back shelf to create the worlds only 4 seater Tuscan.
On my way to India too...not looking forward to the inevitable "issues" either.
Hi Dave how's Chicago ?On my way to India too...not looking forward to the inevitable "issues" either.
It's not realy as bad as I've made out.
I'm in Hyderabad. It's my first vist of many and I finding it amazing.
People are very friendly, traffics is beyond MAD.
I've not had much in way of tummy trouble and I've been eating at pretty basic places and having ice in my drinks.
Don't want to steal the thread so I'll just say I will be uploading one or two videos to YouTube and start a thread in Genearal Gassing.
On thread, like I say the pedal box is adjustable. It may be worth checking how much it can be moved.
A Tuscan may be ideal.

My wife is a half pint too!!!
I take the cushion out and she sits on that as well as the one already there.
I spoke to D&C Trim at the Neil Garner event at Easter and they can easily make up cushions to Velcro in of different depths to suit. They can match up the leather as well but not cheap

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!! that would mean we could take the kids & this is exclusively a child free car
looks like between a customised seat cushion & adjusting the pedal box we could get enough it close enough for both of us, biggest issue for her is being able to see over the dash.
I live near Baldock so tried to call in to the Herts TVRCC meet today hoping to see some more Tuscan's in the flesh but was too late & missed everyone as we were coming back from Chester so didn't get there till about 4.
Hopefully next time

I have raised the seat about 1/1,5 cm by adding a square aluminium tube underneath the seat railing. Railing bolts go throught the tube. Works fine. This is about the max additional height you can add that way, as the seat now rubs the 'pockets' on the inside of the drivers door.
I also moved the paddle box towards the driver.
