Looking at some older threads, it seems that there are quite a few Tivs living in and around Haywards Heath.

I've also noticed that organising an area meet has been mooted:

www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?f=13&h=0&t=116224

So, I've been thinking how about we do it? I'm new to TVR ownership and PistonHeads and I'd be very keen to meet other members.

So, how about I stick my neck out an suggest Sunday 31 October as a possible date? Time and route TBD...

I'll even try to arrange some decent weather!

Anyone up for it?

An excellent idea!

Just a thought - how about arranging a local convoy up to VW on Sunday, 24th October? I can e-mail a few PHers on your behalf - let me know if you're interested. It'll be a tad difficult for me to make the 24th and the 31st - I'm afraid there are too many other commitments at the weekends although I'd rather be out and about playing in the Tiv!

Should this thread be moved to "Events"?

If this happens can we ban legal talk?

Yes, we will restrict ourselves to illegal talk only

I think the 24th is good for me. I have a mate staying that weekend, so provided he's up for up (and the wife gives him an extension to his visa), I'm in there like swimwear...

I'll be up for it too. 24th is best for me though.

Hi. I`m in Albourne, but not a TVR owner (sadly).

The Crawley boys and girls arrange meetings every now and then. Our next mission being discussed is a "Euroblatt" over on Eurotunnel for some shopping and maybe food one evening. All are welcome.

Afternoon all, count me in for some HH action. Not too sure when's best, can't do the 31st cos I'm in Sydney () but let me know when things are going to happen. Cheers, Simon.

Err, that's hardly an excuse!

To avoid confusion, I think we'd better clarify what will be happening on the 24th if that is considered the more suitable date out of the two...

Is it a mini convoy to Virginia Waters (leaving at approx 11.00am Sunday) OR a local meeting early that afternoon?

Nuggs...it's your call Personally I shall be VW'ing.

Okay, it's decision time...

How about we do the whole VW thing? I've never been before but looking at current and previous threads, it looks like a lot of fun.

[/starsky mode on: do it do it do it /starsky mode off]

However, it is my birfday weekend and so you might be seeing a rather green Nuggett on Sunday

How would the car park of the Fox & Hounds on the B2112 do for a meeting place? I know it's not quite in the right direction, but its the only reasonably sized space I can think of where we won't annoy too many people off at that time (and anyway, there's nowt wrong with a collective burble through HH town centre to wake the sleepers)...

If we aim to meet there at 8:45am for an 9:00am getaway, would that suit/give enough time to get there? (This will be the first time that 8:45 on a Sunday has signified the start of a new day rather than a continuation of the previous one!!)

Muck fee, all this responsibility...

look like I won't be able to do the 24th, most likely that I'll have to race that am, but do keep me informed/post any future stuff..

Hi Jem, just out of interest where do you sail from? If it's Brighton then I might be racing against you from time to time. Is so see you on the water! Simon

Ditto with with me - I have another 'social' engagement on the 24th - also I'm away the weekend of the 30/31st.

But given warning though I'm up for any local HH get together.

Maybe Cosmoschick could arrange for us to gain entry to the hollowed soil of Bar Boo?

Hmmm - filling Broadway up with TVRs - now that appeals to me!

It's a shame we won't be seeing you on the 24th Spielboy - are you sure it wasn't Nuggs' suggestion of meeting up at 8.45 am on a Sunday that put you off?

Nuggs, behave!

Bad Nuggett, bad!!

Yes 8:45am is a horrible time, but at least we won't fall prey to Arthur taking Doris for Sunday lunch at 10mph...

We ought to sort out a future date for some HH action (f'nar f'nar), when more people can make it. Someone else please suggest dates (I always get it wrong!).

However, I'm still keen on going to VW (despite the shocking time) - Cosmos, is it just thee and me now? Surely there must be some other hardy HH PHers with a decent sense of priorities!!

BTW - black clouds overhead. If it rains, blame me - just spent the morning cleaning the silver bullet..

I've e-mailed a couple of other PH'ers I can think of who are local. So it's (in no particular order) ...

It'll only take an hour to get to VW via the M25 (Junction 11) so I propose leaving at around 10.15'ish! You'll need £4 in change for entry into the VW car park. Keep an eye on the VW thread for full details.

I'll have you know that my nuggets are of the ginger variety...

10:15am sounds perfect - is the F&H car park still okay or did I get that wrong as well (being a bloke and all)?

Spicey!

How about "Golden Nuggets" - that sounds far more appealing - so long as I won't be facing a lawsuit for defamation of character and internet libel!

F&H car park is fine.

Never before have my nuggets been the subject of such attention (I might have to bring that law suit, just for the front page kudos)...

Unfortunately, ginger is the only word for it - I tried for years to convice the kids at school that I was auburn (just like my Mum tried to convince me I was 'special'), but they never believed me and I had to learn to live with the facts.

It's not too offensive though; after uni I shaved off the ginger afro and pork chop burns. I am now left with a respectable marmalade glow...
