hi boys and girls,

my 92 Eunos has developed a bit of clutch slippage over the last month or so and its starting to irritate me now!

the clutch biting point is high up on the pedal indicating that there is plenty of meat left on the bone. However if i nail the throttle in third, for example, at about 3000rpm it just drags until i ease of and nurse the power in. An "angry" start of the line just drags in every gear.

another symptom is the metal on metal noise when driving along which disappears when i dip the clutch pedal. This seems to indicate that the pressure plate is not fully released and thus the drag situation? The only other thing i can think of is oil seeping on to the clutch plate, i do have minor seepage from the back of the rocker!
My thoughts are pressure plate worn out or needs adjusting, if there is any way of doing this. Would welcome anybody's thoughts or remedies.

Cheers
Darren

PS went like stink around Bedfort GT on Monday but that was mainly 'cos it was in the upper rev range all day!

Just sounds like a worn clutch to me. The mechanism is hydraulic so the biting point shouldn't change unless you have cylinder problems.

Cheers Lazza,

been years since i done a clutch and that was an old cable operated one! Wear indicator on that was the travel in the pedal before biting point. Get it booked in this week and have the flywheel skimmed whilst im at itthumbup

Cheers mate,
Darren
