Off to get my 993 RSR exhausts from Gert next Saturday!

I decided my standard exhaust is a little too anaemic!
So next Saturday I am on a road trip to meet Gert and let him fit the rsr's.
I know other 993 owners have gone down this well trodden route....
Is it worth soaking everything in penetrating fluid this week to aid removal?
I will let you all know how I get on and what the difference is in terms of volume and tone ( subjective I know!).

Hi, great shout, i had my silencers given the RSR treatment by Gert and reinstalled them myself.So next Saturday I am on a road trip to meet Gert and let him fit the rsr's.

To be honest most if not all clamp bolts need to be cut off and replaced even though I soaked them for a few days. If there was anything I would focus on would be the silencer band bolts as you don't want to damage the actual band trying to unbolt them if you can.
Just a quick update....
Went to Belgium and back yesterday to go and see Gert.
Very nice chap and incredibly knowledgable on everything Porsche.
The install was less than an hour and the sound radically different to the original.
I would say its more metallic, more rasping and definitely more sporty.
I suspect I haven't gained any performance, however it sounds like I have an extra 10%.
I think I will continue and buy the sport air box or indeed get my black & decker out and modify the original.
Overall very pleased, the shocks will be shortly replaced with Koni fsd's and then my credit card goes into hiding!
If any one can suggest where the best price lurks for the Koni's that would be marvellous!

I got my rsr from gert.
You should have picked your suspension up from him whilst you were there ! I got bilstein B8 and mo33 springs and he was the cheapest and in stock.
Ps I fitted the motor sound air box after these vids as well

After - RSR Mufflers (from Carnewal) and OEM Big Oval Tips (widebody offset)

Yours will get even better with age. As another poster said, Gert is the man for your suspension also.When I have the bucks (house move for now has cocked this up) I'm going M033 and FSDs from Gert, they are sold as a package and beat just about every UK supplier on price.

nb there is another mod you can do which is cheaper, known as the "hollamby bypass" it means welding pipes to bypass the mufflers to give a similar result. I've heard both though and prefer the RSR's (which are stripped out OEM mufflers) above.
