trackday springs
Discussion
Hi Dom
I have come to the conclusion that to get the best out of the car on either the road or the track you need to have two setups.
The road springs are too soft for the track, brake pads fade and tyres overheat.
To do a track day I have a set of wheels with Khumo track tyres, the Factory track springs with helpers, wind up the dampers and racing brake pads.
The pads screech on the road, springs a bit too stiff and tyres scary in the wet - hence the swap over. It does mean that track days need to be planned well in advance.
The car is currently set up for the road and a friend I took for a ride last night couldn't believe how well it rode (or how quick it was!!!).
It depends on how you use your car but I will do 4000 miles this year so needs to be comfortable.

BTW. You could have your springs sand blasted and repainted. If you then buy track springs you would have both.

It's always a compromise but generally I find with the Noble softer springs but stiff damp and rebound works very well . One big advantage is the car is very good over the curbs , something that can be problematic with very hard springs .
On the brake front Pagid RS29 are awsome for both road and track use but I have had quite a bit of instruction this year and they have tried to teach me to brake harder for shorter lengths of time , this helps massively with brake temps .
