GT3 RS - sticker/decal removal

Hi, after a lengthy hunt I'm picking up my 997.2 RS on Friday. It's grey/red and fully stickered.
It certainly attracted a bit more attention than I'd hoped! During the test drive I had a Subaru Imprezza pulling alongside gunning the engine and doing that dump valve thing, M5 overtaking like a loon and a nice chap in an AC Cobra pulling alongside at the lights and saying he thought I should buy the car (it was on trade plates)!
Anyway I was looking to make it a bit more subtle, if possible, and remove the "GT3 RS" front and rear wing stickers (but keep the side ones on).
Any idea if this needs to be done professionally or if I can just heat them up with a hair dryer and peel them off?

Congrats...fantastic car, you'll love it.
I too thought about doing this (grey/gold) and had decided I would remove the stickers, and have the end plates, wing mirrors and wheels painted black for the stealth look. I saw a car from the factory in this combo and it looked stunning.
Since I bought it I have endured the boy racers in their Focus RS/STs, or frankly anything with a spotty yoof behind the wheel, and disappointed all of them with my granddad progress when I let them prove how fast they are....this is the only downside to ownership.
In the end I didn't remove the decals or paint the contrast colour parts black as I decided mine was more subtle than the others, and I wasn't sure if I would keep it for ever (personal circumstances rather than not an epic car) so thought if I removed the shouty bits of what the 97.2 RS is all about that might be a mistake.
I would suggest you live with it for a while and then take a view....enjoy...

In this instance I think the huge RS rear wing indicates to the LMCs out there that your car is something worth 'racing'.
RSs look great in their full war paint. If you prefer the look of your RS with the stickers on leave it alone :-).
Drving something a little different always attracts some attention.

When I had mine I had them put back on , but remember they are expensive £850 from Porsche, also a note worth considering is that if you intend to keep the car it's part of its overall makeup, so "may" affect values later... Only my opinion of course, in fact when I sold mine the bloke took them off again. So it's personal, for interest I got very little of the attention you received, in fact when I took my 981s out on test drive I got a few idiots then !

It's a lairy looking car with or without the stickers. If you like them, who cares what other people think? I estimate you'd get about 3% less idiots messing around near you if you remove them.

Try the chaps at www.highgatehouse.co.ukHighgate do good stuff and we have someone as well we use for older decals etc. But fitting side ones is an art form - costs approx. £250 including decals e.g. say "Porsche" on side of pre 89. I have a girl who does this and it is 2-3 hours work with magnets etc to get them precise.
Like I said don't be too quick to remove. IIRC the badge (sticker) on GT3RS is nearly £200 from Porsche for a sticker on the boot!.
