Hello all. Been lurking on the forum and classifieds for a while. Quite intent on purchasing an R400 in the near future.

What are opinions on these two cars:

1) http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/c...

Seems expensive to market and has been around for a while although spec would appear to be desireable.

2) http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/c...

Just come on to market and now with pictures.

I'm just starting out down the road of understanding pricing so would very much value opinions of those better informed than me.

Thanks,

Ben.

Not sure why you may think these are expensive, Caterham have two R400's at the moment at 29K and 31k these are one heck of a car so I suspect the offer price looking at the ones on here are reasonable price start point. I have had mine since 2006 and paid similar money

The second one is an SV (wider & longer) and is even rarer in R400 spec.
Looks a decent price to me.

Thanks for all replies. With regards to the pricing of the Maclaren orange car, it was more in response to the fact that it has been advertised for a while and hasn't shifted. I was prepared to act upon the the KTM Titanium painted car that Caterham are showing on their pre-owned but unfortunately that has now been sold.

Thanks again.

My advice would be if you see one you like ....it's in the ballpark you expect to spend.... you've given it the once or twice over to make sure it's genuine and no obvious big problems.....buy it before someone else does !

Agree Steve. I've reached the realisation that you can't afford to dither as the cars will go. Cheers.

I too was very much taken by that 09 plate KTM Titanium R400 that Caterham South have on their website. Went down to take a look at it about a month or so ago and was told then that it had been transferred to Caterham Midlands as it had been sold. Gutted.

Don't understand why they still have it advertised. The good ones do seem to go quick, which makes you wonder about those that have remained for sale for a while.
