brake fade. any one using ferodo ds2500?
Discussion
went out for a play in my mk3.5 using standard oem pads. after a period of hard driving (some big stops) I started to get some bad fade and had to back out.
what are people using? On another car ive tried greenstuff, mintex 1144 and ferodo ds2500. I found the ferodo's the best, but that was on a lighter car. the mx5 is also used for commuting so need something that will work when im still asleep and need to jump on the peddle hard to avoid the neighbours cat (or similar)

Refreshing your brake fluid can help if you've got decent pads that seem to be fading earlier than expected - if the previous owner put racing spec fluid in, it should be changed every 18 months as it absorbs water and will help the pedal go spongy quicker.
I'd recommend Motul RBF600 and EBC yellowstuff pads - tyres give up waaaaay before the brakes do. Epic stopping power.
