Spa vs Le Mans
Discussion
Hi all,
Just wondering If Spa 24hr is a good alternative to Le Mans.
I am looking at going with a group of 8 and 4 of them do not drink so are slightly reluctant to go to Le Mans due to its boozy atmosphere (f-ing lightweights). Someone has suggested we go to Spa.
Anyone been?
Any suggestions?
Cheers

I've not been to Spa, so can't comment on those aspects, but a couple of things spring to mind:
Drink-aside - Le Mans is still such a massive experience that I think is hard to beat. I'm not knocking Spa, but I'd be surprised if it can live up to LM.
It's all GT, as opposed to a mixed field of prototypes and GTs. Not the end of the world for some I'm sure, but a big part of the appeal to me is the mixing up of the four classes.

Never been to Spa but you dont have to drink at Le Mans to enjoy it. FFS. Next youll be telling me they dont like women or cars. Or worse still they are women. Who is mad enough to take their other half to Le Mans?
Most days i didnt drink... until at least 10am. Our campsite was very quiet this year, apart from the fact there were 56 noisy boy racers driving round all night long. At least 3 of the miserable twunts were corvettes with race pipes ... im sure.
That and the fact my mate bought along a 1kw pa system meant it was nice. I had a bit of a dance too. Pulled my ligaments doing russian dancing, and somehow ended up wearing gaffa tape for pants. its not all drunken idiots. I have an iq of 148 and at 41 am too old to be a chav, and besides... you need to have a low income to be a chav. I earn too much. (chav actually stands for Cant HAVe. As in wearing fake designer brands as they cant afford the real stuff. I choose not to waste money on designer clothing and prefer to impress people with the size of my man hood when its buried in some young lady. Ill put the photos up later

Hahhaha fantastic suggestions as ever!
Cheers guys I think I just need to tell them to man up.
I can sort of see it from there point of view as year on year the forums seem to have more people saying its getting to chavy and a few idiots are now starting to spoil it for the majority.
The funniest post I read resently discribed it as being like a derby match between west ham and millwall with a bit of motor racing chucked it.

I'd say there is a higher percentage of race goers at Spa who are very drunk indeed, I had a wander around the year that the GT2 Porsche beat the GT1 cars and there was lots and lots of drinking going on. There isn't the same atmosphere but it is a wonderful circuit, cool cars and it will still be a great weekend.
