CTEK Battery Charging - How?
Discussion
Hi all...
Can anyone help me with battery charging question please?
I have a ctek trickle charger which I would like to hook up to my Boxster Spyder when it sits in the garage.
On my old 997's I used to attach it to the battery in the front, but I wondered if there is an easier way to do this?
Can I plug it in to the cigarette lighter (or will that damage the car?)
Any other 'quick release' solutions?

It depends how old your car is .
If its gen 987 then the cigar lighter route will be OK
Any 991 or latest Boxter or Cayman will not charge this way and you need to use the direct cobnnection to battery route . Cytec do a special lead for this that you can fit and forget with an unobtrusive socket just under the windscreen edhe of the bonnet .
edited to say just seen its a spyder so you should be OK , left the post for others who may not know the restrictions on current cars
