Use it all the time, you can drive without your wipers at speed in heavy rain.
First time you use it you will be impressed

RainX is very good, but I personally don't like it on the windscreen. To me it seems to fog as the wipers pass the screen, but it clears very quick, it's just I'm not keen on not seeing much for a few splits of a second, I do like it on the side windows because no rain stays on them as you move off.

Not forgetting that Rain-X are a corporate sponsor of BRAKE, so you may want to try and find an alternative supplier of hydrophobic glass coatings.

I wish I'd never used it. Yes, the water beads off the windscreen but it leaves a temporary (fraction of a second) haze as the wiper blade passes. And there seems to be no way of ever getting it off the windscreen.

Used it once. Never again.

I use Halfords own as it top trumped Rain-x in an Autocar test. I've used both though and they're equally good. Halfrauds ones a but cheaper smile

Washed my shammy leather with some TCP to kill the slimey bugs so it lasts longer. Wiped my windscreen with shammy one day, and remaining residues of TCP worked like RAIN-X !! Above 40-50mph in rain no need for wipers. May try it again sometime. Sorry, not wishing to spoil the rainx story.

I used to use it, then figured there was a stick on the right of the steering column that made the wipers wipe - been using that ever since biggrin
Rain-X worked OK, but I couldn't be doing with the faff of applying it, wipe on, dampen, polish off etc. I just use the wipers now.

Mer Body polish on the side windows however is wonderful, stops them getting dirty.

Actually, use Mer on the house windows too - means I only have to clean them twice a year! biggrin

Of all the products I have bought from motor factors over the years, RainX is the best one I have used.
It doesn't just eliminate the use of the wipers if you so wish, but it increases the efficiency of your blades to clear the water from the screen. Clean the blades, and wipe some on them too, not just the screen.
Basically, follow the instructions on the bottle. They're there for a reason.

Rain X sponsor BRAKE though (as above) and its more of a domestic product. I find G5 lasts much longer.

+1 for Rain-X here - fantastic product and yes, if your wipers are in top condition then you don't get the hazing on wiping.

If you have time to clean the windows on the house, then you are not using those cars enough! nono
