Yesterday was a great day!

It was an absolutely gorgeous autumn day up here in Sweden, so I thought about it (probably for close to a whole second
) and decided that leaving the office early and going for a hoon in the Esprit was the only sensible way to spend the afternoon.
It's been a while since I had the opportunity to take the Esprit for a blast, but today was all the sweeter for it. What a fantastic drive it was! Crisp, clear air, beautiful sunshine and dry, empty roads. It almost seemed a shame to stop to take pictures.
I've adopted oversized borders, Trackdemon-stylee for this set (hope you don't mind Steve).

How did you do the 1st one btw - was it just by selecting around the car and de-saturating?
It was done with an adjustment layer -> channel mixer to make it B/W and a layer mask to bring back the colour on the car. The difference between just de-saturating and using the channel mixer function was astonishing (I tested both). The de-saturated version looked totally flat in comparison.
I'm only just starting to learn "channel-mixing" so it's pretty much trial and error at the moment and I can't explain it very well, but it's definitely worth looking into - you can achieve some really nice effects.

Great pics. Why don't you drop Kato a line at LEW for the next calendar? Can you send me a high res copy of the 3rd one down and your older one of the back end of the car looking down a long tree lined avenue?? Always up for a change of wallpaper!
Nice finish to the wheels by the way, darkening the centres.
