Hi There, I would really appreciate some help.....The primary shaft has seized due to the lay shaft being pushed forward towards the bell housing, disrupting the lay shaft bearing plate in the bell housing, leaking oil into the bell housing. On slackening the bolts of the rear casing which was under pressure, the casing popped back and freed the gearbox off.
I would be very grateful for help with how to strip down, how to rebuild, any exploded plans, and any tips on possible failures or things to look out for....If anyone has had this problem I would really be glad of any help at all!
Many thanks, Paul

Last time I was in Phil's workshop he was stripping and rebuilding brand new box fresh 6-speeds for R300 race teams as a weakness had been identified in the original assemblies.

Before your issue does the gearbox , propshaft or another strange noise ?

Ask you the question because i have done a rover upgrade , shortened the input shaft as usualy recomended but investigate in all direction a clunk when i release the throttle .

May be you could help me more than i could help you ..
