Samsung TV randomly powering on but....

We have a Samsung UE37C6540SK TV.
I notice that this TV powers up (partially) at random intervals.
I know it's powering up because.. I hear a faint click from it and the link light for it's ethernet connection on the switch comes on.
The 'lock' light on my DAC (connected to the optical out) also illuminates!
The screen does not come on, and the power light remains red, indicating it's in standby, but it lies!
My son suggested that it may be checking for updates?
Is this normal?

Yes, I think i found it.
'Menu' / 'Support' (question mark icon) / 'Software Upgrade' / 'Standby Mode Upgrade' - it was set to '2 hours later' (I presume this means 2 hours after the set was last used) - in any case - I set it to 'Off'.
I looked for this previously, but obviously didn't look hard enough.
