Just wanted to let you guys know to stay clear of these hoses.
I Was promised a 14 day turn around which turned in to well over 3 weeks and my mechanic has been on today to say the car is running mint again after the hgf but I can't get these hoses to stop dripping once its up to temp.
So all round my advice is to look else where for your silicone hoses as the service and fitment quality has been pish poor!
The man with the spanners has said I should be fine but may experience the odd drip when up to temp.
Talk about a farce when you spend £ 209 on what you think is going to be a good product.
Does Any one know how the chap on blat chat with the same problem solved it?

There are two places where silicone hoses tend to drip, one is from the metal pipe that connects from the thermostat housing to the bottom hose, this has flats on the pipe to clear the dry sump pulley when fitted, if the clips are placed so that one of the overlaps an area of the pipe that has this flat (and it is easy to get those wrong, a very common error) then it will leach a few drips when hot. The other place is at the thermostat housing where the 'O' ring on the housing should e removed, but often isn't. If the 'O' ring is left in place the it can displace and cause a small leak.
It's worth checking these as I have seen this problem many times.

Not sure on the clips but they look like juberlee's to me and ten points to Dave, it was bottom hose from radiator that was doing it. Have put two on and will see how it goes.......
Quick question while I have the clever folk about.
What is it that becomes loud when in neutral with the clutch out? Is this normal?
In my 350 miles of driving before the hgf I don't recall the noise but now its annoying me as it sounds ruff almost like a nock. Dip the clutch in neutral and it disappears and I here the nice sounds of the exhaust not the knock.

It's gearbox rollover noise, the first motion shaft (input shaft) turns with the engine and the idle power stokes accelerate the crankset which then decelerates between power strokes. A heavier flywheel, faster idle or closer fitting spigot bearing can sometime reduce the noise, engines with dual mass flywheels more or less eradicate the noise with the flywheel acting as a torsional absorber.
You don't need two clips, just move the clip closer towards the swaging at the end of the metal pipe where it is guaranteed to be circular.

Much appreciated for the reply Dave. Have been out for a blat all day and just got back now. I have a couple of niggles that I need to get to the bottom of.
1st this input shaft it sounds horrible sat idling although he has only done the head gasket so i fully understand he has not been round that area. Every one concours that saw the car prior to hgf that it did not sound like that. I would not have purchased it if it sounded as it does.
Does the ecu get reset maybe as the idle speed could well of dropped a little and this could be the cause maybe?
1.8 vvc on standard ecu.
I'm almost certain the throttle stuck fully open on me 3 times in my 100mile journey. By the time id go to dip the clutch it would release. I'm sure I was off the gas peddle yet it was still fully open (not good when approaching a bend after leaving another....). I will continue to monitor this as I have only done 450 miles in her and any Caterham for that matter of which 250 miles was motorway on the drive back from the purchase. I don't think it was my driving though :-).
Lastly but more worrying is that I am sure I heard a noisy tapit sound some times when on the gas peddle.
This was confirmed after some high revving twisting rd (the cat and fiddle) that due to average speed cameras I thought it best to admire the view just before hitting the last speed camera.
The top end of the engine was tapping for maybe 15 seconds then it disappeared for 20 seconds then came back for 5 seconds then silence and running perfect again.
The oil is that clean that you can hardly see it and my mechanic said 4L came out and 4 1/2L went back in.
15/30 fully synthetic comes to mind but can check this.
Never heard this tap prior so I'm sure it must be oil level related.
Apart from that, not a bad repair....... Ffs emoticon
