Time for the RIng?
Discussion
With all the splendid press that Ultima have received recently, in terms of the 0-100mph-0 world record, it seems to me logical to follow this achievement with a track test at the infamous Nürburgring. Demonstrating the cars lateral ablilities as well, after all it is not only drag racer. I would be very interested to see how the cornering speeds and the overall performance figures compare to the other road legal racers and indeed the race cars.
Is anything planned?

be ace if one could bet round sub 7:20. be even better if one could beat the Radicals 7:19! i think it would be hard though. the radical will have greater corner speed and it will take AS's 700bhp unit to give a GTR a chance to make it up on the straights. still maybe wrong and it do it no probs.
roll on the ring!
thanks Chris.

The ring is as much about the driver as the car, if Ultima want a serious stab at the record they will need to employ the services of someone who has spent a lot of time there IMHO.
I would love to see Dirk Schoysman take GMan's car round for a lap or two, I reckon he could squeeze a fairly serious time out of it

Walter Rohl (sp?) has got a few laps under his belt. Mind you, Phil Bennet stuck that Radical lap in at the back of a track day session of some sort.
No build up, just an out sighting lap and one go-for-it lap. I wonder what time the SR3 turbo could have posted with a day or two to set the car up and prepare?

im only guesing it will have due to the assumption it generates higher downforce and the fact that it weigh half that of an Ultima. also read a lot of reports on the SR3 and most say the cornering is unbalivable. and that it runs on road going slick, so there will be loads of grip there. again this is only from what i have read and is only my opinion. please, please tell me im wrong, coz then the Ultima would blow the radical away!

How much speed is the GTR giving up from the SR3 around the bends? Some Ultima car owner's stated that with regular road tires and a well setup suspension, the GTR could corner at 1.5 Gs. That's pretty damn quick.
Although, I think I remember some article stated that the SR3 can corner a bit over 2 Gs. But that's with slicks right? So if the GTR or CanAm runs with R compound tires or slicks, it should beable to corner about the same?
i read that on the lap o the ring, the Radical was cornering at about 2.1G. the tires used are Dunlop Rs i think. be nice to get an Ultima with the same rubber on and race suspention and see what it could muster! i still thing the radical would have it round the bends and maybe under bracking!
thnaks Chris.
