What a load of rubbish!!

Hi Peeps...Well set off this morning at 09.30hrs to power engineering..Got within a mile away and delilah decides to start running on 5 cylinders!..Got to power engineering and they took the dizzy cap off and the rotor arm has been scoring the contacts and has a knife edge on it now..we swapped that over for the other spare that i had..Still running on 5...Changed the leads around..Still on 5..Then they found a spare dizzy cap...No change...They then found a spare distributor as mine could not be re-used as the ford garage has spot welded it on full advance instead of using springs or wire..Put the replacement dizzy in..Still running on 5 cylinders!..WTF..Checked the amethyst ignition system and it was loaded with the correct map but then when we tried the dizzy connected up to the old spark module ..Bingo!..So the amethyst is fugged!...They tried doing some tunning but she conked out and would not start so i said check the rotor arm..he did and then said "Holy f
k"..And then produced a smashed rotor arm..AGAIN...So we have moved the pipe back as far as possible to stop it touching the cap...Then the leads for the gas probe were playing up so they couldnt tune it..So i now have no advance with boost..No vacuum advance..They set the timing at 9 degrees and said they will sort it once i come back from the weekend..Its useable but they dont recommend going on a rolling road so my names coming off that list..It doesnt stall anymore even at 800rpm..The compression is a bit too low...Original CR = 170-180...CR now = 120...They can make another pulley for the blower to increase the psi to 10...They are also going to make a one piece pipe and route it where i initially wanted it to go and it can be a slightly larger bore..I was there until 17.00 = 6 Hrs but they only charged me £150 instead of £900..The guy that was sorting it out all that time wouldnt even take a drink and kept running away from me every time i waved some money at him..That was quite funny..But he said how can i take money if its not sorted...All in all though a really good bunch of guys and i will definitely take it back after the fest to get it sorted...The temperature gauge was also banging off the scale..With the new rad and fan fitted...I then ended up at heathrow airport terminal 4 after a row with a skip lorry cutting me up...Got back indoors at 20.00hrs...What a shyte day!...Cheers...Ziga

Could be worse...
Oh i forgot...I put me foot through the floor of me wedge...Cracked the bonnet almost in half due to slamming it down with the hump....The carpet on the parcel shelf billowed up like a parachute and flew out the back taking my little mats with it!..I accidently put the wiper on instead of the indicator and the wiper blade flew off...Then i lost the N/S mirror....Pulled the gearknob off...Went over a pothole and the pods started going up and down on their own and now one is stuck up and wont go down no matter what i do...A stone flew up and cracked the windscreen and i lost a fifty pound note in a petrol garage...Then the chinese that i ordered turned out to be a ladyboy...
...But on a good note i spent £200 on scratch cards and won a pound...Result!...So i suppose it could be worse...
Hi Phil...They have offered to make the intake pipe slightly larger but drop it down over the bell housing and out the way of the dizzy completely...I also have the original dizzy that came with the kit which has a turbo boost vacuum diaphragm on it that controlled the advance from the blower..the ford garage said that it was advancing but not retarding but it must of been as it returned to the static position when re-started?...That was pre-re-built WUR/pressure reg so i think that was confusing the issue...Im using a shed load of fuel due to the temporary fix and it runs a little rough but the crusing speed is stable and at least i can get to and from the fest..I will get there soon..Just a bit of a minor set back...Im going to get a few more rotor arms just in case but hopefully wont need them...Cheers...Ziga
Right, so you had a shyte day, Mr. Zig ? But you have re-found you usual sense of humour ?
(by the looks of it....)
Well done !
I'm sure you'll sort your Delilah problems out ! (why would you have started this mod, otherwise ?)
We are to start the Liege-Brescia-Liege ralley tomorrow, which will get us in all sorts of trouble, no doubt, but, he !, i'm on holiday, and even if am to walk back from Italy, how gives a s*** ?
I'm sure all you wedge peeps have a fantastic Fest, and i'm looking forward to meet some of you in September for the 'return' trip......

k me that was a shyte day...Sounds like others are having a bad one too..My heart goes out to all of you who are having a mare...ZigaPS:The rotor arm issue was caused by the rotor arm itself..There are two types and one has a slightly longer tip then the others so it touches the contacts inside the cap at the slightest of movement..Got some short tipped ones...
