Hmmm.. just used Find to scan-read your post for "GP". It came up with nothing. So I say go to your GP.

Probably an ingrowing hair.

Could it be something caused by the heat?

Allergies perhaps? Could explain the throat problems.

It won't be what you think it is. Lumps can be caused by a billion things. Insects, spots etc.

I wouldn't get too worried about it to be honest.

I had a small lump behind my ear a few months ago. I say small, at one point it swelled up to the size of a 10 pence piece. I went to the doctors, they were pretty sure it was just swollen lymph nodes and gave me some antibiotics. Job done.

The body does weird things all the time, but if you're concerned then you should se a doctor. Nine times out of ten, it isn't anything serious.

Teddy, please insist that it gets it checked properly.

Don't be afraid of the worst, because if it is the worst then you might be extremely lucky to have detected it early. My father didn't have that luxury a few months ago.

We have since set up a petition for doctors to check the neck lymph nodes, after my father lost out due to having his lung cancer being detected too late for any treatment. If this check had been done several months before, he might have had a fighting chance. Please read this and I urge you to sign it if you feel inclined:

I wish you the very best and I expect it's just a general bump in the skin.

ETA: Not trying to be a scaremonger, but knowing for sure will make you feel more comfortable much sooner.
