Quick Wireless question

Thanks to everyone who gave advice on setting up a wireless betwork a few months back, got it set up without too much trouble.

Quick question: We have an 11g 54Mbps router, is it back compatible with 11b network adapters? My flatmate is needing to get an adapter for his desktop which is USB 1.0 and a few of the USB wireless adapters say they are for USB 2.0. He is reluctant for some reason to get a PCI card.

AFAIK all 11g devices are backward comatible to 11b…. (well, I've yet to see one that isn't!)

Haven't tried it myself, but I've read that when you associate an 11b adapter to an 11g access point, all the other adaptors associated with the access point also revert to 11b.
