Silverstone classic 911 parade lap insurance

Last time I did one of these was the Silverstone Classic in 2007, organised by Porsche Club GB. I let me girlfriend drive, having done track days she asked about helmets, I said "I'll be surprised if we get to 40mph" so after a long wait off we went with everyone.
We got to over 100mph on more than one occasion (I hastily put my seatbelt on the first time), and a couple of times you'd go round a bend only to find everyone in front had nearly stopped
That was probably exiting Bridge though, which had poor visibility but isn't part of the track anymore.
No-one came to any harm but given how many cars there were squeezed onto the track and how little experience (if any at all) most drivers had on track I'd suggest driving with appropriate caution, but your standard insurance should cover it - exclusions are usually "racing, speed-testing, pace-making, competition" etc (which doesn't even exclude normal track days).

The 2012 parade lap was for BMW z cars and we were balls out for the first half and the 5mph for the second half. A couple had a but of a squeal on at the end if the 'new' straight (Wellington?) as it tightens up lots

There is an hour given for getting on the track and doing the lap and getting off again. Can't see us racing round it. It will be a lot of fun. 911 cars on the track is a fair few cars. There will be some stunning cars there I am sure.
It took a good hour to get the Ferraris on track last year then plus the parade laps all moving round the circuit a car length apart no more (Guinness WR rules) took 3 hours including getting off the track and out the circuit

Have done a couple of parade laps before at Brands Hatch, people tend to back off to clear some room, then floor it, meaning as you come round a corner, you'll be confronted by a huge train of stationary cars, very scary! Just be careful if you intend to do this!
To qualify for the GWR the cars had to stay a car length apart and keep moving so if anyone did this they would have broken the chain and therefore reduce the numbers qualifying for the Ferrari GWR. But as said 90% of the circuit was covered by cars 964 qualified (good Porsche number!

I'm participating in the Silverstone Parade Lap - If I remember correctly, PCGB did one at Oulton Park a few years ago, and some guys were doing the 'hang back & then floor it' routine, and inevitably, power overtook talent and someone ended up in a gravel trap!
