My friend told me the other day I should have a look at pistonheads website, as we talk about classic cars very often.
I am the owner of a 73' MGB "Blue" originaly used in Chersterfield but now used on my homeland, in Grenoble, south east of France.
In fact today I need some advise because of my elder son's Ford Fiesta.
I have asked to several guys around me but no one could give me the answer... I hope I will find some help with you !

This Fiesta is a 1.3 of 1994, in very good condition... until last month.
Guillaume came back home and asked me to listen to the engine: bad luck, sounded like if a connecting rod bearing has gone. This was confirmed after we opened the sump. The 2 bearings and the crackshaft were badly damaged.
So we decided to change the engine. The problem is we could find any HCS 1.3 up to now.

Questions:
_ as Endura engines are more frequent in our scrap yards, can we only replace the HCS block by a 1.3 Endura ?
_ As in France we must keep the engine in "original configuration" we must use the original HCS single injector carburator plus inlet and exhaust manifolds. Will they fit on the Endura block ?
_ any other problem to expect with clutch, gear box ...?

Excuse my pigeon english, I used to live in Wales but it's 30 years ago.
Thanks, in advance

You'll get all the advice you need from this forum. When I had serious issues with my Ford several members gave brilliant advice.
