I spend a bit of time in st Ives (Cornwall)and everytime I'm there a set of lovely US cars rumble through

Is this a local club or something?

Probably because St Ives is a good place to visit/pose and have an Ice Cream if you can park!

Saying that, have to admit to seeing some US cars there on occassions.
