Wedding music-specifically leaving the church

So, need to sort this out sharpish. We have all the other bits of music sorted but we just can't decide on this one. The bit where we walk out from wherever you go to sign the papers or whatever, we want something uplifting.

I know it should be something personal that means something to us but we're at a loss so I'll open it up to you guys. Feel free to take the piss but let's be honest, "bring your daughter to the slaughter" isn't going to get played

In a Church?

How about an instrumental, such as Dreams Made Flesh by This Mortal Coil or if you want Lyrics, then their version of Song To The Siren has a fitting arrangement for such a venue, and a beautiful vocal by Liz Fraser, more famous from her Cocteau Twins days perhaps.

The Young Prince and the Young Princess is a pleasant enough piece of music. Around 10 mins in duration too, so good for the signing.

Variations on pachelbels canon by Ed Alleyn Johnson is, erm, interesting. Starts innocuously enough but Ed stamps on his distortion pedal part way through and it turns a bit rowdy.

I suppose the most important question is whether you have an organist. It makes a huge difference - no point having a wonderful toccata if it's on a CD. I've only really experience of church weddings with an organist.

I love the Widor, although it's very over-done - but there is a very good reason for that. The Arrival of the Queen of Sheba always sounds as though it ought to be wrong as an exuent, but works far better than as an introit. Pachelbel's Canon is far too dreary for a wedding (leave that one for when you reach the Crematorium!).
