Porsche VTS fault - anybody experienced one ?

Anybody experienced a VTS fault before ? Apparently prevents ignition and faults appears randomly. Affected cars usually need VTS unit (read Cobra traker) replaced..

Has anybody experienced it ? Mine did it once, then obviously never again and OPC cannot replicate the fault.. hence refusing to change unit... hence I am exposed to the car doing it again at the top of a mountain road in France..

Any help appreciated.. on how to replicate, any info at all..

Yes I did on my 997.1GT3cs. It was throwing ABS faults and PASM faults ( failure , consult dealer ) at random intervals although the car was no different to drive. Then one day it refused to start full stop so was relayed to OPC who diagnosed the fault as VTS control unit going haywire and causing interference with the other electronics. New VTS control unit and 2 new fobs later , good as new. All covered under warranty including the recovery and hire car.

Hmmmm, mine never had any issues. Just wouldn't start one day. No reason, no particular location nor temperature nor anything... Just nothing.

Porsche assist come (read RAC), nothing to do. Recovered to OPC.

Once at OPC all fine, doesn't miss a beat, not once. They say can't replicate the fault so can't replace VTS. Had car 3 days now, she runs perfectly as she's always done.. Annoying. Very.

Give Cobra a ring and ask to do a diagnostic as you are experiencing problems. They can remotely monitor the fobs you have and see if any errors show up at their end.
