just had this delivered, been standing 20 plus years. got to recommission the old girl.
the guy got it for next to nothing as the owner didnt know the value of it! should be a lovely car when its finished

What a dream find! Are those wheels off a mid '80s Audi Quattro?

Love it. Can you just imagine how little this was worth a few years back. A tail, a 2.7 and 911S badges, all meant no doubt to make the car look a quicker better model no doubt, add dodgy eighties wheels for a more modern touch (I'm sure I remember Fuchs being well uncool at one time) to finish off and hey presto 20 plus years later a sleeping classic.

i think the pictures dont show how bad it is. it needs floors/ fuel tank support panels doors kidney bowls scuttle and loads more welding. not the worst ive seen but still pretty bad. its got a 2.7 k jet engine fitted but apparantly the original is on its way from said barn.
correct the wheels are audi with adaptors to get them to porsche 5 x 130 fitting. ill get some better pics monday, we are off racing at castle combe now.

as for the body mods etc ive seen a pattern over the years of this. the amount they turbo bodied here in the 80s is offensive looking back! we had a 1970 in the other day with a 930 turbo kit, the guy wanted 965 bumpers. i said you should put it back to stock. so theres many backdating or restoring to factory look, but many also still modifying them. ive been 1 of the guys people want stoning so to speak with my old 2.7 i put a 993 gt2 body on with a modded 965 engine. each to there own i suppose!
