Alfa 4C in the UK: Pic of the Week

It's been at motor shows and photo shoots; here's the 4C on British roads for the first time

Yes, we know the Alfa 4C has been POTW recently. But this is different as the clinical studio shots have been replaced by an actual moving car in Britain, and that seemed worthy of photographic celebration.

What these new pics still can't convey, however, is the presence of this little sports car in the flesh. It has a real aura of junior exotica and makes rivals such as the Porsche Cayman look rather staid by comparison on first look. The 4C really is worth a closer look at Goodwood this weekend.

All that remains to be answered now is whether the 4C's dynamics can match the styling. If it drives as well as it looks, Alfa should have a true great on its hands. We'll get behind the wheel as soon as possible.

This photo and your imagination will have to suffice until then, but it won't be long now! Let's hope it's a car worth waiting for.

I had my hopes on the picture of the Jag Project 7 from the top down as the POTW.... The 4C looks fairly ordinary in this picture.

First job , rush round to my local custom shop and get some BMW mini head-lamps installed to replace those horrors, then get rid of that cheap chicken wire grill fillets and fit some decent polished alloy (or chrome) horizontal slats.That front is so "cheap-skate" even the center grill is minimal, should have been an important focal point with some prominence. Have seen better on a kit-car.

Headlamps aside a stunning looking car.Hopefully is a great handling car or it will be a missed chance again from Alfa.

Personally I prefer the lamps on the production version, they match the minimalist ethos of the car, why have a big lump of plastic that serves no purpose?

Not usually a fan of Alfas, but the 4C truly is a beautiful creation.. there's a proper mini-supercar air about it

It was meant to be the opposite, a stripped out no superfluous headlamp look to match the car. Although it doesn't really come across that way...

can see a few companies making some aftermarket lights

they should have kept them the same as the concept 4c

Surely the people at Alfa are looking at the car and cringing at the lights. Why not change them? They really do ruin the car (same with the Ginetta G40!)

In the flesh they don't. They look pretty horrendous in the pictures but they do look good when you see the car for real. I have no doubt that the ones from the concept would look better though.

Either they will look better in the flesh
Or there will be aftermarket lights
Or Alfa will revise them
Or buy the car in black
Or don't buy it at all
But please talk about something else to do with what could be one of the most refreshingly new cars for ages
