It probably would but also bear in mind that the L322 changed from a BMW 4.4V8 to a Jag 4.4V8 Circa 2005.

Wouldn't the extra torque lunch the auto box, iirc it is already at the upper end of its capabilities as Std?

Not for the V8 it uses a different box to th TD6.

Correct - BMW V8's used the bomb-proof HP25EH I believe rather than the TukTuk100 item used on the TD6
