Well as promised a little bit of info re my latest addition.
I have stated before with previous 911's that they would be a "Keeper".
Well 911 number 11 is a "Keeper" and this was confirmed with the 210 mile drive back from Guildford yesterday. Temps of 29-30, no AC windows down/sunroof open and just the sound of the traditional air-cooled flat six breathing though its stainless steel Dansk pipe and occasional pop to add to the occasion and the original cassette stereo (sounds s
te), sure its not in the same performance league as the GT2 and 6T's I have owned but some how creates a massive smile factor and at all speeds, had a lot of thumbs up from fellow motorists which is nice.
So as I promised myself 3-4 months ago, a narrow bodied coupe 3.2 Carrera Sport model is in my possession and has been "Crimped Up" to remove the "Air Kill" and give a nice coat of quality wax........
Anyway to true to form here are some of the Crimp pictures for a Sunday perusal.

Clean as a whistle! I followed one the other day and I couldn't believe how small it looked!

Well I've just been to Homebase in it if that answers the question.Joking apart old 911's are quite quirky to drive which is obviously part of the charm of having a weekend car.
You feel the road more and get a lot of response through the steering, so you could say its a raw experience.
The 3.2 flat 6 is quite a slow revving engine but comes alive around 4k revs, its no rocket ship by todays standards but its quick enough with 231 BHP on tap and no weight, and everything appears slow when you've owned a GT2 in any case.
As mentioned earlier they look very small today like a proper sports car so lovely on the narrow twisties and more pointy than the 930 Turbo I owned and the Supersport.
Anything I don't like about the IB cars?
Yes the heater system runs its own degree course on how to understand the feckin thing and when you finally grasp it, its a total waste of time in any case
I firmly believe that these cars are a very good place to put your money and although that's not the only reason I wanted one (as I love classic car shows) its still reassuring all the same, this coupled with the fundamental fact that you just don't see nice ones on the road anymore or for sale for that matter. I have to smile to myself though I have gone through a vast array of 911's,..........Turbo's in most Guises air cooled and water-Cooled a GT2 various normally aspirated IB cars a few years ago & i'm back in a humble little 3.2 Carrera. Great stuff.
Looks fab, but have to ask, as I'm guessing this cost top dollar, unless the pic can't give that much detail.shouldnt there be a 'nipple' above the door lock in the picture?
