I have booked up with MSVT for Bedford Autodrome on the 26th July - it is also a 'EVO' event with people from the magazine attending.

Anyone else want to attend?

- - Details - -

Join the Evo team after work with an Open Pit Lane track evening at Bedford Autodrome.

Open Pit Lane events give you the flexibility to go on and off circuit as you like during your evening. You'll be able to enjoy all the circuit time you can handle to develop your driving skills.

The South West Circuit is a challenging combination of corners and chicanes but is extremely safe. The huge run off areas make it the ideal venue to explore your car’s potential, whether this is your first trackday or your fiftieth - there is nowhere else like it in the country!
If you’ve always wanted to get your race licence then you can take your ARDS test on this event. However, due to this being an evening, you will not have time to participate in the trackday if you are taking your test.

TIMETABLE
15:30 Signing on
16:30 Briefing
17:30 Track time begins
20:00 Track Time Ends

Hi,
I'm booked in.
Looking forward to a good thrash and a chinwag with a load of friends that are coming down. Some driving, some just for the social. Sould be a good afternoon. They normally are.
Come and say hi.

Hi Guys,

I am booked on this event too.

I will be bringing my Caterham R500 Duratec, and of course I hope that my Raceco Exhaust and Track day air box makes it quiet enough for the noise limits at Bedford.

Feel free to come over and say high and a chat on the day.

It will be good to get out on track and meet some new people too!

Nige.

Here's my car if you have not seen the pics:-

Just refitted my Track Day Airbox for Friday.

I hope it does the trick for the induction noise!

And if it doesn't, at least it's very pretty!

FWIW, my Westfield (2 litre Zetec on carbs, foam filter, closed bonnet, extra-large silencer) just scrapes in at 96dB, IIRC.

Thanks, sounds good, I hope it will be OK.

My previous R500 with this air box and my Raceco exhaust was fine at Oulton Park, but we did not get told the exact dB!

But if your Zetec on carbs can get down to 96dB, I hope mine won't be too far off that.

Lets see!

Cool, see you there!

Lets hope it's not too hot as well, my car runs very hot, and the cabin temperatures can be crazy in heat like this!

Weather looks like its going to be 25c-ish. Probably humid too. Glad mines got aircon smile Should make for a lovely afternoon though. Can't wait.

Limit for Bedford is 101 or 102db static, so you should be fine, I would have thought.

See you all there.

Thanks Jack,

Jealous of your Aircon!! I took mine for a spin yesterday, it was 29 degrees outside, measured the footwell temp at 46 degrees, I wonder just how hot it will get on Friday!!

Phew!!!

Certainly looks good. Although not so critical for those of us in cars with a roof and a windscreen smile

Can't wait!

Yep good point!

I am sure I will be craving your cool air conditioned cabin after an hour in the R500 Halogen Oven!

Am off to Str8Six to pickup the car today before heading to the track - It has been having new Nitron shocks fitting and some geometry tweaks - so fingers crossed they do a good job!

Looking forward to meeting you all.

Do they insist on long sleeves/trousers? If it's 25 degrees I'm going to boil to death in a Westfield!

Any chance of a ride? I'd be interested to see what a 'charged Chimaera goes like compared to mine ...
