Steering wheel boss grinding noise
Discussion
Anyone know what this might be?
Been a while since mine was on the road, and over time the car has been moved about and once or twice the steering wheel might have been used as a point on which the car was pushed or pulled.
Now the boss seems to grind slightly at various points in the rotation! I guess it's a case of take it apart and see what's broken or bent?

You jinxed me!
Headed out just now for the Peacock Farm Pub meet in Bracknell and mine popped out. Took me a while to realise that it must have been because I had to tap the steering UJ back on to the column.
So I headed back home after apologising to Dr G who I was about to pick up, and managed to fix it in about 30 mins. So I headed back out for the same thing to happen again. More apologies needed but now I'm a bit more worried, because I don't know why it happened a second time.
My plan now is to use a couple of cable ties to hold the nylon collar in place, and to to buy another collar as well just in case.
