Heard the Pleney lift is shut for maintenance, does anybody know what the arrangements are?
Have they opened one of the other lifts on that side of the mountain, and is the Pleney run itself open?

Bit more than maintenance it's been removed as its being replaced. Bus exists between Morzine and Les Gets and an ultra slow chair lift only running for 2hrs in the am, but the bus seems regular.

Your can still reach Les Gets from Morzine.

Just back from two weeks in Morzine.

Closed for replacement, also the top lift station burnt down (cheaper than traditional demolition?).

I'm not going till August, planning to take the bus to Les Gets in the morning, hit up the bike park and DH runs, then XC back to Morzine and down Pleney DH run and over to Chatel via Skyline.

Not that I'm over thinking it or anything...

Are you sure? It's not something I heard.

Chamonix on the other hand had a fire.

Not seen it first hand, but reasonably sure.

Not that it made any difference, it was for the chop anyway, might make the Pleny DH run less of a gangfk of braking bumps and swapmud ha ha.

It's only a shame for Pleney.

I imagine Les Gets aren't happy but I couldn't care. Hate it there.

Happened on the 2/3rd day of the demolition iirc!

A replacement is well overdue. France has some of the oldest lift equipment I have experienced compared to the Austrian's who replace their lifts more regularly.

To be honest, it is sad seeing it like that.

Many a summer spent on that lift. And it was pretty fast, just unfortunately like an oven in the heat.
