996 PCM 1 WILL IT PLAY MP3 CDS?

Hi,

have just got a 996 Carrera 2 cab on a 52 plate. Was wondering if anyone was able to tell me if it would be able to play cds burnt as mp3 disks. my car has the PCM 1 nav with changer and bose system. I would like to upgrade the unit in a few months, but it will do for now.

My 2004 996 doesn't recognise a CD or DVD with MP3 files?

Am I doing something wrong?

Very clever since PCM1 has a cassette player!



I've got PCM2 in my 2004 986 and that doesn't play MP3 CDs, in either the head unit or the changer.

I can't believe PCM1 would play mp3 CDs in the CDC-3 either. Even the CDC-4 won't play them. They only introduced mp3 playback in PCM2.1 head units in about MY2006.
