The blurb said:
F1 2013 gives FORMULA 1™ fans the chance to compete against legendary drivers in cars from different eras of FORMULA ONE with a range of classic content from the 1980s. F1 Classics, introduced by legendary broadcaster Murray Walker, allows players to race iconic 1980s cars from Williams, Lotus and Ferrari against drivers including Mario Andretti, Nigel Mansell, Emerson Fittipaldi and Gerhard Berger, with more to be announced, on classic circuits Brands Hatch and Jerez.

This could be amazing I just hope there are more classic circuits than Brands and Jerez. I'd love to see Imola and Silverstone for a start.

A serious question. How can you say the game had horrible physics when youve never driven an f1 car. Im not trolling, i just find it an odd statement.

Unless you have driven an F1 car, of cause.

It does have horrible physics compared to a real F1 car.

well actually thinking about it a bit more it would have to have crap physics compared to an F1 car otherwise it would be incredibly difficult, as per a real F1 car.

I did find it pretty hard with all tha assists off, I eneded up using TC and ABS (which I never do in Forza).
It can be a rewarding game when (F1 2011 was the last one I bought) I got into the rhythm of a race but the AI was shocking!

You don't need to have driven an F1 car to know if the physics are bad. The way the cars NEVER behave like real ones, even in easy situations.

And an F1 car is incredibly easy to drive, like all racing cars. The difficult bit is going quicker and quicker, and withstanding the accelerations and jerks.

But yes, The F1 20xx series is just awful. The graphics are nice in a way, but the rest of the game is buggy junk.

F1 cars can do donuts. Try it in F120xx. It's a really simple test which really highlights just how bad the 'sim' is. Codemasters use a horrid centre-point physics system which is fundamentally flawed.

You're a muppet. When did codemasters ever claim if to be a racing 'sim'?

The games are bug filled but its better than the gap years we had after f1ce.

Thanks.

It's always so hard to tell who is a console user from their posts.

I think you need Rfactor.

I'm terrible at "realistic" racing games. Problem for me being, no matter how good or realistic the physics are, they simply can't convey to me what's happening by just using a screen and audio. I need to feel the car around me to know how it's reacting.

I played some F1-2011 (I think!) when it was first released, and it was fun, but I just don't have that connection to the car in it, and it makes me laugh when people say how realistic it is. How is it realistic? It looks nice, but it's just an animation of a car on a screen"

I struggle to get the R500 around corners in NFS:Shift 2 (not a simulator I will admit!), but have tracked my Caterham quite a few times this year with no problem. The games just don't give me the feedback I need!

As a result, I tend to enjoy the more arcade style racers a lot more, simply for the fun element.

Not too excited about this. I believe they have just changed the cars to the 'classics' and added Murray Walker commentary but done nothing to improve the game play and physics of f1 2012 which was, as others have already mentioned, terrible.

Copy and paste job just like Grid 2 and most of EA's sports new releases.

Very excited about this, throughly enjoyed 2010 and 2011, skipped 2012 as not much had changed but this new version with historics and Brands (my local track!) sounds fantastic. Some 60's machinery and the Nordschliefe would be perfect.

To the person above, if you turn off all the assists, you can do as many donuts as you like.
