My 1st 911's first year

Well, I've had my 1st 911 a year now. My 3.4 Carrera Cab arrived in June of 2012 after 2 previous Boxsters ( a 2.7 986 Tiptronic and a 2.9 PDK) The 991 is also PDK. I had my driving course at Silverstone and the instructor did things with their car that I'll never be able to do with mine, so I know that it will (and does) handle well. BUT, (and I thought this would happen before I bought it) I still think I'll revert back to Boxster albeit a 981 Boxster S. And then again, the 991 does have presence and makes a nice noise. So, the question is: what do I do? Keep the 991 or go back to Boxster? Ps. The 991 is paid for so it's not really about the value etc.

Why do you want to get out of the 991 into a 981? Don't enjoy the handling, presence, noise?

When I had a 981s on loan whilst my 991s was taken care of I thoroughly missed it.. I missed the power, the noise, the shape, the back seats, the quality of the interior.. And so much more.

Don't get me wrong. I love the 981s, probably find it even sexier than the cayman. But the 911 is the 911!!
And you've just went through the steepest part of the depreciation curve, getting out now would just be awful in terms of Gbp/month of ownership...

Unless smth wrong with the car and you want a new 981s...

Personally, I'd definitely keep the 911, no question for me, but obviously some people prefer the Boxster, everyone's different.

Also, if you've only had the 991 a year and bought it new, surely you're going to get spanked at trade-in.

I've had a 991 and a 981 Cayman for the weekend and I am with Clarkson, the 911s etc are no longer sports cars to big and fast.

The Cayman could be thrashed around our county roads in a way that wasn't possible with the 991, well not without being well into the lost license terratory.

I know I should really. I forget how good it looks when I'm driving it. I HAVE done 8000 miles now (all pleasure miles, no commuting). I just need reassuring now and then. I'm even toying with the idea of keeping it forever. Thanks chaps.
