I'm sure this has probably been answered somewhere but anyway...when buying bib shorts what's the most important criteria? I'm thinking height.

For example I'm 6'1, 32 waist, 38/40 chest and about 78kg. If I look at the DHB size guide that puts me in L/XL, S, M respectively.

Thoughts?

Depends on the brand to be honest, Castelli stuff comes up small as its clearly designed for anorexic Italians, Altura and Endura seems to be a bit more "normal" sizing, particularly around the waist.....

With clothing, I just buy two sizes from Wiggle and send one back, their returns policy is simple and convenient.

I'm just under six foot and 32" waist, most XL bibs are too baggy, but the Large usually fit ok, unless Italian, but they do stretch a little.

In DHB you want a medium for a snug fit or large for a more relaxed fit

I'm pretty much the same size as you (an inch shorter and 2kh lighter) and just ordered a DHB medium. I'll let you know how they fit when they arrive wink

If it helps I'm 6'3", 34 waist and 77kg and the large DHB bib shorts fit perfectly.

Have a look at the Q&A section of wiggle on the pair that you are looking at as this question comes up a lot.

I literally just ordered a DHB bib and then spotted this thread, I was at the upper end of the medium for everything apart from height which pushed me into a large (6'1). Went for a large, I don't want too tight a fit. I'll update when it arrives.

My Aeron Race bibshorts arrived today. They fit. Just. If I were much taller then they'd be too small.

Also, fairly light on the padding!

I can vouch that the Pro bibs are excellent...for future reference. Well worth the money IMO and much better quality and padding.

Mm, £25 more than the race though. I'll see how I get on with these first.
