Buying a Chimaera

you can look at mine. ![]()
A1 condition and currently being pampered off the road. Magazine featured too!
Are you thinking of selling?
To be perfectly honest my budget is bottom end Chimera or top end S, or average S of course if I decide to go in the S direction. I like the S as it's getting a rare sight on the roads and has lots of charm but they are a bit dated now. I've noticed owners do update them with "eye candy" and perhaps that would be good for me as I am the sort to tinker and improve!

I was in same position as you about 4 months ago. I'd sold my Westfield, had cash in my hand, and thought I can get a TVR with this. Looked at the S and thought hmmm I really need to get a V8 otherwise its not gonna be a "real" TVR.....the realised that for only a little bit more I could get a reasonable Chim. From that point there was no competition, it had to be a Chim.
Started looking, talking/texting/emailing sellers - generally making myself a pain in the arse - and considered a lot of cars on paper. Eventually found a few that were either close enough to view, or looked good enough to warrant a trip, and I've now had mine for 41 hours 50 minutes......
And my budget was the same as yours......
I reckon you are looking to buy at the best time too - still plenty on the market, and with the weather, some bargains to be had out there IMHO
I reckon Schnozz's looks fantastic, and has a great history/reputation (despite that of its owner) and if it had been a different colour
, I'd have gone to view it!
Good Luck!

Westy, I have found what looks like a good Chimera and it's less than 10k. I'll reserve my judgement until I have viewed it though. It's at a reputable garage too and I may even be able to offload my current tin top in p/x. I'm also looking at an S and can probably negotiate a price that is still less than half the price of the Chimera.
The Chimera colour is the same as Snozz's car, he must be a man of impeccable taste (despite his reputation)
