Hi All

First time in this forum - looking for advice.

I am going to St Tropez on holiday at the end of August and want to buy some binoculars for boat watching on the beach. Does anyone have any advice? I don't want to spend much (£40-£60) as they won't be used a great deal afterwards.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

Ben

I had exactly the same requiremnet though my budget was a coupla £100.
went into my local dealer [leitz, canon, nikon, zeiss, opticron, bushnell] did a test on all sensible priced bino's - there was a clear winner, Nikon 'action' 7x35. Clarity was sublime compared to the worst models, even expensive brand models. mine cost £40 an absolute bargain, since then I've bought a spotting scope again a Nikon ED50.
I'm not a nikonite all my camera's are canon smile but Nikon bino's and scopes are awesomethumbup
I suggest you try several models before picking one that suits youbiggrin
Hope this helps

I use these for astronomy. I think they would be great for close up stuff.

I have just bought some 7 x 50's from the local chandlery for £26.95, to my (untrained) eye they perform the same as the £100 ones they had!

Thanks anyway though.
