Latest CAR magazine with lots of 911 stuff in it, have given the thumbs up the common non rare 3.2 Carrera ''the best classic 911 you can buy'' praise indeed !
Just wating for the values to go through the roof now ( Crimpalength ahead of the game )
Have you got a link to this article, as I have also predicted this for the last 12 or so months.Just wating for the values to go through the roof now ( Crimpalength ahead of the game )
The 3.2c is the next big leap in prices, snap them up now!
I would but there is so much rubbish out there I have stopped looking for them and good ones are early 20's to 30k now, anything below I have looked at needs work, so you may as well spend top dollar and wrap it up in cotton wool.
I wonder if this is why you hardly ever see them out on the roads any more
Out all day on Sunday, loads of 944s, Boxters, Caymens and kettles but no other air cooled all day long. There are definitely less around and the good ones are hard to find. As said, makes paying the bills a lot easier and it would be nice to think that you could run a car for 10 years or so and then get all your money back.

Totally agree I honestly can't remember going out in mine and seeing another on the road.. I go to a few shows and there seem to be a few there, but as you say they're probably taken out, shown then hidden away again. As we all know, these motors were built to drive. Seems a shame that although its great to own a low mile minter, that very reason is one to not take them out and drive them. Anyway I'm well pleased I own one.

I can't believe how good mine is - feels indestructible. And ironic that it was my first ever Porsche and I have gone back full circle after trying nearly every 911 variant. Put it this way, if I had to keep just one of the Porsches I have owned it would be this 3.2, or the one I had all those years ago (anyone know where F876 DOH is today?)

Similar to me had 10 911's of all guises and back to a faithful old 3.2c Get under your skin i'm afraid.
Gee it feels wrong to go against the man love for the sexy 3.2 incl. Crimps hugely spankworthy red one, but I feel I must interject.. I have driven a lot of these cars over the years from the humble Carrera to a modified slant nosed 930, and despite my love for the shape and the sound and the sheer 80's-ness of it all, every one I have driven, again - to me - feel utterly ancient compared to other cars of the same era. Don't get me wrong, I want one, but I have no logical reason why except for the look of the thing and that fabulous waist and arse.
The slow revving engine, the demented pedal arrangment, the utterly nasty gearbox incl the G50 (the pre G50 box the worst box ever IMO), sorry, and oh and the fact they also feel really slow with sticky, yukky steering. I have no idea how the claims are true performance wise, because from my experience, it's BS and not even the Turbo feels quick unless properly, properly modified. For me, the reality of driving a 3.2 takes away massively from the sex appeal of the shape. Now if someone stuck a 993 engine in one, with it's box, that would be a great drive.
99% won't agree with me, but there I've got it off my chest, resume love-in service as usual.

Actually to an extent I agree, certainly feel slow, but following a GT2 and a 6T most cars will.
For me yeah the aesthetics are sublime but its used as and treat as a classic car, so all the noise feel/smell feedback on the steering and general quality makes it an occasion when I take it out.
The modern supercars you have to be really going some to get the grin factor as they are all so good at what they do. For me i'd love a 996 Turbo as my everyday car as its that good but couldn't justify the running costs for the miles I do, its not really a weekend car though IMO.
The floor hinged pedals are true to all Air-Cooled cars, that doesn't bother me one bit TBH.
Did I mention the looks?
