tam 16 vs 18 wheels and tyres

got a set of each in the garage, both shod with oldish road tyres , but id prefer something a little grippier

has anyone who has swapped from one to the other, any experiences to share, and also what tyre sizes to go with IF i went to 16's

i keep toying with the 16 vs 18 debate, really more interested in ride and handling than aesthetics.

16's give a better ride and you won't bend them going over cracks in the road as is usually the case with spiders with low profile tyres on. I don't think it tram-lines as much either with the smaller wheel. I stuck with the 18's as the 16's look a bit ghey!

So long as you have the correct offset with 18's spiders & tyre profiles, together with a proper geo set-up, there's no comparison IMHO? Larger foot-print, better selection of "tyres" you can better "tune" the car for your needs - track/spirited/touring??

The Tamora was designed around the 16" wheels. The 18" were added as an option for aesthetic reasons.

This. I, in my subjective view, think that my old one was much more fun on 16's than 18's.


18's do look better though...

Does anyone run aftermarket 17 inch wheels? Possibly the best of both worlds...
