Never posted a pic of anything on here before, I'm more a lurker than anything else but I'm trying to change my ways.

I bought a new motor a few weeks back, had originally been looking for another Octavia VRS CR170 but from past experience of an incredibly unreliable one I said I would look at non-VAG cars and wound up with this.

It's an Astra GTC 2.0CDTI SRI. I added a few bits to the spec - Xenons, Sat Nav, Climate, sensors, bluetooth, folding mirrors and 19s because it was a bit bare otherwise. Don't need a bigger car and finding a mildly powerful smaller diesel isn't easy in these parts. Happy with it so far, even more so as there are so few on the road.

nice looking car m8, looks good with your options. Don't see many of them about, how does it compare quality wise to your VAG cars (looks top notch in the pics)?

That's what I want to know, its certainly looks better than anything Vag, or German for that matter, I really want the OP to say it is as good as it looks.

I'd rate the build as equal, but the top of the dash isn't as squidgy as a Golfs if you get me. I think VAG have been using that trick for some time to give an impression of perceived quality.

It does drive well though. It's got the Insignia VXR hyper strut set up at the front and I have yet to see the traction control light so much as flicker. In my old VRS it was an all too regular occurrence. Usually the same story in 170 bhp ish small diesels but not this. Makes it a lot more useful out of faster roundabouts. Even on the 19s it's still comfortable too.

As for the E34 she's a bit rough and the E39 wheels wouldn't be my cup of tea. It's a promotional car for the detailing company I took it to when I got it. Wouldn't take a huge amount to bring it up to scratch though.
