Sick of all these 3 week waits.

I know its probably the same every year but this year seems to be taking forever between races! its like I cant really get in to it as much as I would like because by them time I've waited 3 sodding weeks to the next race I forget who won the previous 
Thank god for Goodwood FOS as I've had my F1 fix this last week! is there still going to be more races next year? hope so.
as I say, I'm sure its like this every year but never has it felt so slow

It does seem that the last couple of years the calendar seems to have moved from a race every 2 weeks over the summer to back-to-back races with a 3 week break in between each pair. Agree completely OP. It is disjointed, it should be every 2 weeks all season, with the summer break in august (though I think 3 weeks should be ok). Like you I almost forget what happened last time out, and even don't care as much as I used to. I hate the long summer break! Especially since they have so many 3 week breaks between races..
For the past year and a half I've been following Moto GP too, so it helps when F1 is not on, Moto GP is on that weekend, so that helps fill the gap.

I hate the big gaps as well.
SOrt it out Bernie or you will lose punters. A few of my friends have been getting into F1 this year as a result of my banging on about motorsport and us using the leftovers from the drinking kitty to bet on the results of the next race. We they were until they got fed up of trying to keep track of when the next race was....

Doesn't bother me my life doesn't revolve around f1 and glad of the breaks between races so I can watching club series around local tracks which is far more interesting than f1 is these days.
Plus if you think a 4 week wait is bad there is a 6 week break for the btcc between the last rd croft and the next snetterton. The teams, personal need time to relax and develop the cars just like everyone else if you do to much work over a period of time without much time off your performance drops and mistakes happen.
So if you can't wait till the next race then go out and support your local track and clubman series.

Same as me actually prefer the highlighted races so I can watch in the evenings and do something during the day.
To be fair this is not only an F1 issue but is affecting alot of series this year with two or three races on top of eachother and then a silly long gap in between.There just doesn't seem to be any sort of 'flow' to the year.
It may be fine for those whose life involves motorsport but for those whose lives revolves around the sport it is a right pain in the harris!
As has been said op could always try getting out a bit more and watching some real races than the telly.UK has more motorsport than just about anywhere else- why restrict yourself to stopping indoors ? And thank God you weren't trying to follow GP racing in 1967- first race on January 2 and next on May 7....
Lol I just done 2 days at goodwood done the wrc for the last 8 years been to countless amateur rally's etc. not that I have to justify my social life to you lot!
I'm an f1 fan, have been for years and look forward to frequent races which at the minute aren't very frequent! On the whole circuit racing bores the hell out of me, I'm a rally man at heart but I love F1!
Unfortunately I have quite a busy life outside of watching Motorsport and simply do not have the time to swan off around the country every weekend but I can manage an hour and a half of sky f1 with me Sunday dinner!

Just be grateful you weren't trying to follow F1 in times past. Four five races televised a year - no TV coverage of most of the season.
And even if you were following the races in the newspapers or motoring magazines, there were massive gaps between some races.
In 1968 the first race of the season was in South Africa on 1 January. The second race was in Spain in 12 May - an 18 week gap.

The summer of love was 1967- not that there was too much in evidence of this in the West Riding mining village where I grew up ...But back then it wasn't F1 on the silly pedestal it occupies now. So Le Mans especially was incredibly important and a typical GP driver could be seen in all sorts of stuff- saloon cars (ie forerunner to BTCC), sports cars and F2 especially with a bit of rallying and Indianapolis too.Vic Elford won Monte Carlo Rally, Sebring sports cars and finished 4thh in French GP in the space of a few months in '68.But remember we only had 11 or 12 Grands Prix a year then. I preferred it because I could get to see top echelon drivers at Oulton Park , Mallory and even Croft then.And we also had the luxury of at least two and sometimes three non championship F 1 races here too.But now.. well the fact that I am excited at goingto watch quite a few drivers I've never heard of at Silverstone tomorrow probably tells its own story- as wild horses wouldn't drag me to Silverstone for the GP any more.Reason ? Ecclestone has made the whole thing completely inaccessible to punters like me. I used to be able to wander into pit garages etc on day before GP - can you imagine ?
I'm sure you would all love things to be like the good olde days, but for me, these are the good old days
I can only really speak for like the last 5 seasons, I've enjoyed watching f1 in this time, unfortunately I will never get to see old accessible Grand Prix, unless I'm a millionaire I will have to watch f1 on sky, hence I want more races lol!

You're right; when I was in my early twenties I would moan about the old boys wittering on about the good old days without seatbelts and armco when men ere men etc. The one thing which is a bloody tragedy though is that it is now virtually impossible to see fast and noisy single seaters regularly at UK circuits. At its best we had unsilenced F1 , F2 and massively noisy Formula 5000s.We also had huge and closely fought grids in the junior formulae like Formula Ford Now we've got ..err ..let me see- Ecoboost Formula Ford and a bit of yawntastic Formula Renault. Shame.Thank God for Historics and if you like F1 you really owe it to yourself to see and hear some of the older cars in action- live
