Hi all,

Ive decided to get out the original alloys for the 280i and put them on so that I can put her on ebay as an auction.

They were refurbed when I got the car about 4 years ago, and a really quie clean, but theyve got a bit of pitting going on (theye werent laquered) and I want to make them shine a bit better than they currently do.

Any ideas?

Im just about to go out into the garage and have a go with some autosol polish to see if that will help.

Thanks

Stu

PS, this means there will be a set of OZ SPLITS with yokohama rubber for sale soon.
wink

Hi Mate..Autosol and a polishing mop will bring them up...Doing it with a cloth wont be as good and will need some frantic rubbing..eek..Ooo missus

Fine wire wool and autosol would make it a lot easier or 2000 wet and dry to get the surface ready for polishing, cheers

I sold some Wolfraces to a friend of mine for his P6. They were a bit worse than that. He ended up putting them on the car, jacking the rear up, putting it in gear on idle and using a wire brush. They came up a treat!

thanks Zig, Ralph and Adam,

I went out last night for an hour with some 2000 grit and some watered down autosol and the results were great!!

Ive ordered some more 2000 and 2500 grit stuff and I should have the wheels back on for the weekend, ready for it to go on the ebay auction.

Hi Stu...Howlfrauds do a tapered polishing mop that fits in a standard electric drill chuck..Make life a lot easier and gives a lovely finish...Ziga
