I'm not very good at flying sims, but I was looking at a demo of World of Warships on Youtube and that looks interesting.

That said, I hear War Thunder is better than World of Warplanes at the moment at least

I've been an Avid World of Tanks player for a while now, And i think i will be giving World of Warplanes a skip and go onto World of Warships (I am biased towards anyhow for my Job) just because on my laptop its kind of hard flying around with the controls etc. Still it does look good.

I am thinking around the same lines, really enjoy world of tanks and i think Warships is more likley to be my type of thing. I find flight sims a bit too fantic for my liking.

How does this compare to War Thunder?

I heard a few times during the closed Beta of World of war planes that War Thunder blew it out of the water on nearly every conceivable level, I was wondering if anything had changed?

Seems that way frown

No RAF (I sware wargaming.net hate us British folk), game play is OK but nothing spectaciular there is annoying american voice over guy telling you when you hit stuff (as if I couldn't see that). May give this a miss as it just dosn't feel as balanced as WoT (ok its only the beta). It just seems to be who can gank the other team the quickest.

Sounded interesting so I had a look at a review on YT and the guy said there are no RAF aircraft in the game, and half of the aircraft are fictional?! frown
Eww, in that case it isn't even worth the bandwidth to try it.

Definitely give war thunder a go if you haven't already guys!

I too heard that this one was a bit of a lemon compared to other offerings, and given that there are no (as yet) iconic RAF planes, like the Spitfire, Hurricane, Mosquito et al, I think I'll give it a miss.

Its good for a quick laugh although pretty difficult to get right. The tier balancing is very World of.... as in putting a poor slow unarmoured place vs the ME109's. But it passes the time until world of warships!

It's pretty tedious. Like most flight sims, you spend your time in a constant turn following an arrow that you never catch.....

Yep and without the additional demands of having to get back to base in one piece and land without stacking it that you get with other games.

I watched a YouTube video of world of wwarships recently. I thought they weren't going to have subs but this was a tedious video of a Japanese sub chasing about at unrealistic speeds and firing off fishes at about the fire rate of PZ1C. Garbage.

hehe

I haven't quite figured out how a naval version of WOT could possibly work.

You start at tier 1 with a rowing boat and flare gun and end up commanding a carrier battlegroup at tier 10. biggrin

To be fair it doesn't try to sell itself as a proper flight sim.

Anyone still playing this? I signed up for the beta and never got round to giving it a go, just got an e-mail about it which reminded me so currently installing.
