I have owned this for 7 months now and thought it was time i started a thread..
Bought at 127,000, now on 132,000 and every mile has been an absolute pleasure, effortless cruising and extremely comfortable, a world away from my previous Ford Puma.
It is completely standard and rust free and that is the way i intend to keep it. Inspection 2 is being carried out next week by my trusty local indy and then i shall be saving for some new spring/shocks to take some of the wallow out of the cornering.
I hope to keep this for a very long time and hopefully see its value go up as they become increasingly rare, here's a few pics..

king lovely!Lovely. E34s are IMO the apotheosis of BMW and those later 525s are a real sweet-spot in the E34 lineup, because the engine is a gem. A car with 'Just Right' stamped all over it.

I do agree that the engine is a gem, it will pull smoothly from 1000rpm in 5th at 20 mph. It feels very 'torquey' right the way round the rev range which is a bit of a surprise given that it is the VANOS equipped M50 engine. I bet this engine in the lighter E30 is a real hoot but the prices of those has spiralled.
Plan to take a camping trip to Cornwall (i live in Berkshire) with some mates soon and have managed to bag a Thule roof rack for a bargain £20.
As for fuel economy it averages 27 mpg normally, 37 mpg at a steady 70mph and I'm currently averaging 30 mpg at the moment but that's probably due to my less congested route to work at the moment.

Fantastic, My '96 E34 Touring has the same engine. I was impressed with the smoothness of the power delivery too- It's worlds apart from the 4-cylinder stuff I've owned before.
The car has done me proud so far with some suspension and cooling system work- It's been to lots of UK race circuits and I also used it to tow the Caterham to Spa.
Yours looks lovely and clean, I can only aspire to get mine looking as mint, but I reckon it will happen one day!

Well i've had the gearbox, diff, engine oil and all filters changed and its made a massive improvement to the drive. Gearbox is a lot smoother and i'm very happy.
With renewed enthusiasm i've just made a huge order for a full suspension overhaul, update to follow.

That's an M50B25 24v engine like mine, 192bhp and approx 9s to 62. Top speed is allegedly 147mph. taylor86 said:

They do look great. Mine's on 225/60 Falkens at the moment but I'm considering changing to 205/65 for cheapness / tyre choice / fuel economy / road noise reduction etc.Gassing Station | Readers' Cars | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
