What is the general opinion of the V12VR.

I know they will ultimately lose money but do you think that they would be as good an investment as anything?

This is a top spec car with B&O , carbon spec, most of the toys having been spec'd.

I've seen two used ones in the last month
Both at nigh on list price
A dealer recently confirmed to me AM have kept them well under control to firm up the prices (new & used)
HMW have a ceramic grey one ( maybe the one you mean) currently up at list with no options for a 11k mile car frown
I've been tempted a few times but the prices at too strong for the diffrence between my S
I suspect they may weaken over the winter but do better than most other Gaydon cars

Just had a look at it. It looks to have a decent spec and has been used smile What do you think of the colour combination - Hammerhead with a cream truffle interior - not a combination I would have thought to put together. Wonder what colour the roof is? Could be considered a marmite choice and maybe impacts on price? The MF car is a better colour combination IMO but should that mean it is that much more expensive? Who knows?

I'd say the morning frost car will be more susceptible to depriciation in the future due to it being the colour du jour.

The roof is black from photos I have.

Just wondered if this was considered to be a good buy but some of comments make me think that the colour combo may not be the most desirable frown

Unless you're going to hold onto it for 20-30 years it's hard to imagine any of the current cars being anything even remotely like an investment.

When/if the V12VSR comes out, the V12VR will devalue a lot, unless manual gearboxes magically come back into fashion.

ETA: That sounds overly negative, but it wasn't meant to be!

I'd like manual boxes to come back into fashion smile and it was more a give in to the man-maths call. Just don't try too hard to justify it financially smile

I suspect the MF will nor fare as badly as flat white cars
That HR Owen one is the best value used one I've seen so far (now totalling 4!)
Not a fan of that interior though
It will get really grubby really quickly on a roadster! wink

It looks a fabulous car but agree its not the most practical interior colour. If you like it that's all that counts. With modern leather treatments I'm sure you could keep it looking nice . Agree MF won't date as much as flat white. Buy it and enjoy it .

It wouldn't as long as you take care of it. I really like the combination.

What about this one - http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/a...

A bit high mileage and boring spec, but nice enough.

That is one of the unnumbered additional pre-launch cars!

It is advertised at the same price as the Hammerhead car above, but it has 11,000 miles, so almost 3x as many and it is 6mths older. Its a safer colour combo though for sure.

Shame about a black interior in a Roadster, needs to be a little more adventurous in my opinion, but ceramic will look stunning I tell ya!!! Stunning!!! cool

You are indeed correct Adam! This is the 4th Roadster build out of the 6 pre-production cars, S21058.

Do you know how many were built in total?

Hi Graham, sorry I've been away so only just seeing this.
I believe there are 6 non-plaqued pre-prod cars and 101 'customer' cars.
However, I've been assisting Alwin with the Roadster Register but we've only identified 103 vin numbers to date so are 'missing' four vins.
