OK, was doing my usual fantisising about buying a Tusc when I've saved up enough - browsed through to autotrader and found a nice looking black one for £18K through a non-specialist dealer - 2001 plate.

...then did a vehicle search on the RAC site as the plate number is visible in the ad. It's on it's fifth owner and is registered as being red not black (which probably explains the cream & red interior)! Hmmm, sounds a little iffy, yes?

There's three things worth knowing about a Tuscan if you're intending to be the next owner:

1 History
2 History
3 History

OK - I know!

My own experience of trying to enter thru the low-end of the market did nothing more than delay me getting behind the wheel of a sorted Tuscan, as well as introduce me to the british legal system in order to get my deposit back (which I did eventually).

You should save a bit more money and target Tuscans with a 'regular' price - and then check all the HISTORY.

Save on full leather/aircon/etc., but don't consider anything that's changed colour/accident repaired, unless perhaps TVR/TVR main dealer did the repair.
U read how even bad wheel balancing can throw these monsters out - the basics have to be spot on. IMO there are more heart sob stories than bargains in the low-end.......

You have a well looked after car there, and Mark is a hell of a nice guy (even though he's gone to the dark side) .

That doesn't mean that I stop looking here though Alan
Hope to see you at the next TVR meet, gonna still keep up my membership up and will have to get around what I turn up in with Craig.
I mentioned to Chris about getting involved with the TVR club in the Notts area, it'll be down to their RO to badger him on here until he turns up...
