Hey folks,

This is weird, but with the prospect for much amusement.

You know how fax machines and modems use regular analog audio signals to transfer demodulated data?

So, technically, if you were able to actually speak those signals (i.e. use your own mouth to make that "dee-dee-dee-dee-darrhghgjsgdhlkjshl" sound) in a recognisable language to electronic devices, would you be able to say, talk a print to a fax machine?

Is this possible?

Imagine the possiblities - "I'll just fax you directions".

There's no way you'd ever be able to make the noise accurately enough. However, it is possible that dolphins can send "pictures" to each other by an analogous method.

One big issue would be the speed of change between the 'notes'. You would never be able to keep up. But along those lines, I used to be able to whistle a few initial tones to get a modem to handshake and connect....
