Second Sag to sell at 60k?
Discussion
Just saw Matt's(?) Sag up for sale at Fernhurst. From memory, I think this is only the second Sag to be offered
at 60k+ (well, 59,995 TBP)
WJ55 HGL. Cascade Violet with Magnolia/Prussian Blue full hide, blue...
31,100 miles
Fernhurst Motor Company - Fernhurst
Nice looking car.

It's nice, but the color is very "special", no mods and more then 30k miles on the clock - I don't think it will go for 60k GBP...
From my point of view, selling for that price should include 4,3l Blueprint (or 4,5SS), Nitrons, Carbonparts - like the reflex charcoal one a few months ago (I guess it's "7TVR" now)...

FFS !! I haven't personally heard of a single Sag with a factory engine problem (not heard about every single Sag in the world obviously, but jeez... this mileage things is soooooooooooooo boring, predictable and short-sighted)Edited by RedSpike66 on Friday 19th July 23:17

Chill Mike, Zeppo will probably be one of those that doesn't use his car as it will fall apart and explode if he does. It means that it is a well kept secret that you can actually drive them and enjoy them although with mine now nearing 50,000 miles I have obviously been on borrowed time for several years NOT.
Yes, I have to rebuild my engine every 500 meters. You get used to it

Guys,
I use my Sagaris as much as possible, at the moment it's nearly a daily driver - I will not sell it until I have great financial problems - so, it's not a "Garage queen"...
BUT, as much as we care about our cars, they are not getting better and most of the little things to change start with reaching the 30k (mine has 29300) like the clutch.
So, if would spend appr. 4-5000.- GBP more then the selling factory price was, I want to have a highly polished Garage queen with less then 5k on clock or a used car with lots of modifications and Upgrades...

Sorry but don't follow your logic, I think it would be fair to say that the majority of owners deal with the little things as they come up and during the routine maintenance. If the car hasn't had a clutch in the last 15,000 miles then you would budget for one in your overall buying or selling price but beyond that you check the condition of the car and work out in your own mind what you think needs attending to and budget accordingly. If the numbers work for you you move ahead and if they don't then you walk away, as the TV ad says "simples".I use my Sagaris as much as possible, at the moment it's nearly a daily driver - I will not sell it until I have great financial problems - so, it's not a "Garage queen"...

Cars will always be worth what someone will pay for them and as for Matts it is in a very desirable colour, good condition and will come with a 2 year warranty and as such will be worth a premium over many of the others, whether that premium is a price tag of £60K is for the market to decide but assuming it is at Fernhursts on a sale or return basis I wish him every success.

Good news for all who have them, not so good for those with cheque book and pens

I can see both sides, if the very nice car at Fernies sells for close to asking price, that's where the market for very nice 30k miles Sags seems to be. The highly polished sub 5k garage queens have got to be worth more unless they are a very odd spec.

Would agree John although unless the owner is in a similar position to you, ie lots of lovely cars to choose between on a daily basis I would not understand why you would have a beatiful drivers car and use it for less than 700 miles a year, but then we are all different.Good news for all who have them, not so good for those with cheque book and pens

Lol you think you have problems, I have a 2002 S6 Cerbera with no rebuild. If I listened to all the so called advice it would be going pop every 10 miles - just had a 12k service with a clean bill of healthEdited by RedSpike66 on Friday 19th July 23:17
