You have a flat dipstick yes?

I don't see how this can be wiped when it's pulled out of the round tube holder.
If you push not quite all the way home can you get a reading on the tip of the dipstick?

I think that will be fine, especially if you are filling to the 'max' level, and I wouldn't worry about the angle of the dipstick. You're probably trying to be too precise in reading the oil level on the dipstick.

You should try reading the oil level on my Audi A4 TDi dipstick where it is almost impossible to see the shiny oil on the shiny plastic markers.

The dip stick tube is pushed into position and adjusted to miss all the moving parts.

I've seen straight and bent ones so the oil level is vague to start with.

Just make sure it's topped up un a regular basis and you'll be fine!
